What is Flourishing Founders?

Brought to you by BW LaunchNET and BW Counseling Services, Flourishing Founders is an event designed to open the door to discussing the mental health challenges that can come with entrepreneurship and to help attendees begin building a community and identifying strategies and resources for making self-care a priority. We hope that this event will equip you with tools to help you build self-care into your business so that you can focus on the joys of being an entrepreneur!

What to Expect at Flourishing Founders

Flourishing Founders will include three workshops on various topics relating to mental health. These workshops are designed to spark conversation and equip you with tools for navigating these mental health challenges throughout your entrepreneurial journey. You will have the chance to attend all three workshops at the event but are not expected to attend any workshop that you are not comfortable with!

• Workshop 1: Where's the Water Cooler?

Do you miss daily water cooler chats with coworkers? The day-to-day life of an entrepreneur can be largely independent and sometimes lonely. This workshop focuses on combating isolation in entrepreneurship and the importance of building and maintaining a community.

• Workshop 2: Not So Happy Hour

“Let’s talk about it over drinks!” Alcohol is a staple in the business world, and it can be hard to know how to say no. This workshop focuses on the challenges of navigating a culture in which alcohol consumption is normalized or even expected. You’ll walk away with some strategies and resources for taking care of yourself, however you choose to interact with alcohol.

• Workshop 3: Doing Business from Bed (don’t!)

The phrase “leave it at the office” is one that many entrepreneurs simply can’t connect with. How can you leave something at the office when your home is your office? This workshop focuses on the importance of setting boundaries on your time and maintaining balance between your personal and professional life, even when the two are closely entwined.

Flourishing Founders will also include free food, mental health resources to explore, and opportunities to connect with fellow entrepreneurs!
